Ratatouille
So, let’s talk about Ratatouille! I mean the typeface family, not the food.
Ratatouille was cooked up in Paris, summer 2025, but the “kid” who made it has been nourishing the dream of Paris since 2007 — the year Ratatouille (Pixar’s film) was released. With a deep love for animated films, I knew my typeface had to feel friendly, expressive, and absolutely CUTE!
The design is based on a humanist ductus blended with brushstroke energy, rounded corners, and something I like to call a “rocking-horse serif”. These elements give the texture a sense of motion and warmth. I primarily designed it for children’s designs, especially animated films and storybooks.
Now, let’s take a look at the menu, shall we? Depending on your taste, you can pick from 4 styles and 14 different weights: “Oh la la! Fantastic!”
What makes my Ratatouille extra special? It’s a fusion of a French home-cooked dish and a young Vietnamese dream. So of course, it supports the entire Vietnamese alphabet, including tone marks and diacritics, across ALL weights and main 3 styles!
Whether you’re designing for a storybook, a film title, or anything that needs a little heart — Ratatouille’s ready to serve. Bon appétit, mes amis!
The 6-week type design programme that you’ve been waiting for starts on 2 June and ends 10 July 2026.
