Since 2015, we have welcomed a group of attendees who will embark on a journey to discover type design in Paris from early June to mid-July. During this time, they will have the opportunity to develop and present their font projects.

We’ve got a diverse group of people here, from absolute beginners to type design enthusiasts. Some of our attendees already create lettering pieces and alphabets for their clients.
We’ve set up a place where design professionals can learn about type design quickly. We often get the question: “I’m a graphic designer who’s never drawn fonts. Can I join?” Our answer is: “The amazing results on our website are mostly made by graphic designers who’ve never touched type design. Come over and let’s start!”
We also welcome attendees who have already taken other summer or evening courses. We offer them a programme designed to enrich their know-how, strengthen their rigour and develop their professionalism in developing more complete typeface families. They’re thrilled to learn more in depth with our team.
This diversity is the strength of the programme.
During the summer programme, our instructors chat with each other every day to keep everyone updated and make sure everyone’s learning and growing as much as they can. Our team for Typeparis26 is a fantastic bunch of folks! We’ve got Jean François Porchez, the brilliant mind behind TypeParis, as well Léo Guibert, Greg Lindy, Ruggero Magrì, Mathieu Réguer, Gina Serret, Malou Verlomme. They’re all going to make this event a real treat! Special sessions planned with Rainer Erich Scheichelbauer from Glyphs. Our instructors are absolute legends! They go above and beyond to make sure you learn and grow. They genuinely care about your success!
In addition to our regular instructors, we’ll be having some special guests come over to spend a day with attendees. They’ll be reviewing each typeface project one by one, giving us their expert feedback. Until we announce the guest critics for 2026, recall that guests for 2025 has been Cecilia del Castillo Daza (MX-SP), Ramiro Espinoza (ARG-NL), Diana Ovezea (RO), Albert-Jan Pool (NL-D).
The list of instructors and guest critics below will be updated in the coming weeks!
The programme covers the learning of know-how in typeface design and calligraphy techniques, type history, and modern software practices. A typeface is a combination of different factors that need to work together, and the whole intention of our methods is to assimilate this fundamental principle through practice.
Like any creative discipline, type design is highly subjective, and whilst there are important principles that we teach in detail that should be followed, there is a lot of room for one’s own personal taste.
As references are crucial, during this period, several visits have been arranged to see notable French institutions and discover the immense and fascinating history of type, such as the collections at Bibliothèque Nationale, Bibliothèque Mazarine, Bibliothèque de l’Arsenal, Musée de l’Imprimerie and Musée Gallo Romain in Lyon or Plantin-Moretus Museum in Antwerp.
You will benefit for free from our Now26 graphic and type conference organized organized on 30 May 2026. There’s nothing like listening to great type designer professionals talking about their projects and vision. Better than that, you will enjoy the conferences of excellent graphic designers and art directors who will transmit their interest for typography and its most innovative uses.
