Laura Meseguer (Barcelona, 1968) is a freelance designer, typographer and type designer. Her activity combines commercial work and personal projects, specializing in all kinds of typography-based work — from lettering for monograms and logotypes to custom typefaces and book design. Her type design work has won numerous awards, including TDC Awards, Laus Awards, ISTD Certificates of Excellence, Hiiibrand Awards, ED-Awards, and Premis Ciutat de Barcelona.
In 2018 she received the Premio Gràffica in recognition of her career. Beyond her typefaces, Laura’s work has been showcased in numerous exhibitions and publications. She gives lectures and workshops all around the world. She has also been active in professional communities, serving as a Board Member of ATypI (2017–2023) and now as a member of the BCD Cluster of Design.
In addition to her practice, Laura teaches Typography at the Masters in Editorial Design in Elisava. In October 2019 she started her own type design academy in Barcelona, Tipo-g, together with some of the most relevant professionals in the field. In 1992, she co-founded Type-Ø-Tones, the independent foundry from which she continues to publish and promote all her typefaces. In 2003–2004, she enroled Type and Media at the Royal Academy of Arts in The Hague (KABK).
