This talk explores an unconventional approach to learning typography – without formal training, and often under tight constraints.
Through real projects in advertising, it shows how limitations like lack of time, budget, or resources can become opportunities to create.
By embracing intuition, experimentation, and even mistakes, it is possible to develop both skills and visual sensitivity over time.
A perspective from outside the traditional typographic path – focused on doing, rather than knowing.
When Marie began working in advertising in 2014, her first passion was coming up with creative ideas. She then learned how to bring them to life through art direction.
It was while developing her skills as an art director that she discovered typography – first by creating logos for campaigns, and later by designing type treatments for headlines. Over the course of her ten-year career, she has developed her own approach, consistently seeking to integrate a typographic dimension into each of her advertising projects.
Now, she collaborates with both French and international advertising agencies on 360° creative and art direction projects. Marie also works on design and visual identity for a wide range of clients, from large corporations to small startups.
Today, typography plays a central role in her professional work, as well as a personal passion she continues to explore in her free time.
