Éloïsa Pérez works as a graphic designer and typographer, and is a graduate of the École nationale supérieure des arts décoratifs in Paris and of Celsa (Paris-Sorbonne University), a renowned school for the information and communication sciences. She specialises in editorial design, giving great importance to typography and the materiality of objects. She is involved in research on the role of graphic design in transmitting knowledge, and since 2013, has lead a research project at the Atelier national de recherche typographique on writing practices in primary school, “Learning forms”, which she is pursuing from a theoretical viewpoint at Celsa, with her PhD thesis on the contribution of typography to the teaching of writing. Her work focuses on the study of graphic systems used in teaching aids and on methods of communicating with young children. She is the author of several articles and essays on these topics, including one on teaching tools published in Étapes, a graphic design magazine, one focused on textbooks for schools for the online review Strabic.fr and another one on the theme of research within the field of graphic design and typography for Graphisme en France.

Spécialisée dans la conception éditoriale, son approche se structure autour d’une utilisation affirmée de la typographie en accordant une attention particulière à la matérialité des objets. Engagée dans une recherche qui interroge le rôle du design graphique dans la transmission des savoirs, elle conduit depuis octobre 2013 un projet à l’Atelier national de recherche typographique sur les pratiques d’écriture à l’école primaire, “Learning forms”, qu’elle approfondit d’un point de vue théorique au Celsa où elle prépare une thèse de doctorat sur l’apport de la typographie dans l’apprentissage de l’écriture. Ses travaux portent sur l’étude des systèmes graphiques en usage dans les supports pédagogiques et sur les modes de communication avec les jeunes enfants. Elle est auteure d’essais et articles sur ces thématiques, notamment un sur les outils éducatifs pour la revue de graphisme Étapes, un sur les manuels scolaires pour la revue Strabic.fr et un sur la recherche en design graphique pour la revue Graphisme en France.
